Iran Victorious over Argentina in FIVB World Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Argentina 3-2 (22-25, 30-28, 25-18, 32-34, 21-19) in its opening match of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Saturday night.

Iran captain Milad Ebadipour scored 21 points, while Conte Facundo collected 20 points for Argentina in the match, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Argentineans and Iranians both took part in the Hubert Wagner Memorial tournament in Poland, and met exactly one week before their World Championship matchup, with the Asian team winning 3-2 in a match played without any of the usual starters.

Team Melli will play Egypt in Pool F on Monday and meet the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The top two teams in each pool and the four best third-placed teams will qualify for the elimination round.
