Iran Loses to Brazil in 2022 FIVB World Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Brazil 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-23) in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship round of 16 Tuesday night.

Brazil’s Leal Hidalgo Yoandy topscored the match with 20 points in Gliwice, Poland.

Milad Ebadipour, Amirhossein Esfandiar and Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad collected eight points each for Iran.

Iran started the competition with a 3-2 win over the Netherlands and then defeated Egypt 3-1.

Team Melli lost to the Netherlands 3-1 in the Preliminary round and also was swept by Brazil 3-0 in Round of 16.

Brazil will play Argentina on Friday in the quarterfinals round.
