Iran After Durable Deal in JCPOA Talks: FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reiterated Iran’s determination to strike a strong and sustainable agreement in the talks on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal and lifting the sanctions on Tehran.

In a meeting with his Dutch counterpart Wopke Hoekstra, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday, Amirabdollahian said Iran is resolved to reach a durable agreement in the JCPOA talks.

Pointing to the initiatives that Iran has presented at the JCPOA revival talks, Amirabdollahian said Tehran is determined to reach a deal with the purpose of removing sanctions against the country.

The Dutch diplomat, for his part, expressed hope that an eventual deal would be reached as soon as possible so that the restrictions hindering the progress of the Iranian-Dutch ties could be removed.

The two ministers also discussed other issues, including the Ukraine war, the energy industry, and the problems of Afghan refugees.
