Guarantees Necessary for Final Deal in JCPOA Talks: Iran’s Deputy FM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s lead negotiator in the talks on lifting the sanctions on Tehran and reviving the 2015 nuclear deal reiterated the need for sustainable guarantees to pave the way for an ultimate agreement.
Ali Baqeri, also Iran’s deputy foreign minister, has traveled to Budapest on a tour of Europe. On the first day of his visit, the Iranian diplomat met Hungary's Deputy Foreign Minister for Security and Energy Policy Peter Sztaray.
Pointing to a visit that Hungary's minister of foreign affairs and trade paid to Iran last year and the second session of the joint economic commission of the two countries held in Tehran, Baqeri said the firm determination of Iranian and Hungarian officials to strengthen bilateral ties is strong support for the business people of the two countries to promote trade and economic ties.
He also referred to the conflicts in Europe and reaffirmed Iran's policy of opposition to war.
Iran has suffered heavy losses during the 8-year imposed war and has been under sanctions for four decades, Baqeri noted, stressing that Iran rejects wars, as they kill human beings indiscriminately, and at the same time deplores sanctions because such measures punish human beings indiscriminately as well.
The top Iranian nuclear negotiator further pointed to the latest developments in the sanctions removal talks and said Tehran believes that the readiness of the other sides to give sustainable assurances will result in reaching a deal swiftly and their commitment will guarantee the preservation of the agreement.
