Iran’s Omid Ebrahimi Ruled Out of 2022 World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim)– Iran national football team midfielder Omid Ebrahimi will miss the 2022 World Cup due to a groin injury.
Ebrahimi, 35, picked up the injury in the friendly match against Nicaragua in Tehran on Thursday.
He requires two months of rest.
His absence will be a big loss for Team Melli. He was a member of Carlos Queiroz’s team in the 2018 World Cup.
Iran is in Group B of the 2022 FIFA World Cup along with England, Wales and the US.
Iran will start the campaign with a match against England on November 21.
