Hebrew-Arab Axis behind Attack on Tanker in Oman Sea: Nour News

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nour News, affiliated with Iran's Supreme National Security Council, attributed a recent attack on an oil tanker associated with an Israeli billionaire off the coast of Oman to the Hebrew-Arab axis.

“The Zionists' evil acts during the World Cup have started earlier this time. Regional competitions and the cabinet formation crisis in Israel have activated the Hebrew-Arab axis to attack the oil tanker in the Oman Sea in order to involve Qatar and Iran simultaneously with the help of media atmosphere,” Nour News said in a post on its Twitter account on Wednesday.

The AP quoted an official as saying on Wednesday that an oil tanker associated with an Israeli billionaire has been struck by a bomb-carrying drone off the coast of Oman.

The attack on the Liberian-flagged oil tanker Pacific Zircon happened Tuesday night, the Mideast-based defense official said.

The Pacific Zircon is operated by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping, which is a company ultimately owned by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.

In a statement, Eastern Pacific Shipping said the Pacific Zircon, carrying gas oil, had been “hit by a projectile” some 150 miles (240 kilometers) off the coast of Oman.
