Iran Among Top 5 Countries in Radiopharmaceuticals: Nuclear Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is ranked among the world’s top five countries in the production of radiopharmaceuticals, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Eslami said Iran has been ranked among the world’s top five states in the production of radiopharmaceuticals, which are exported to nine foreign countries.

In the production of radiopharmaceuticals in Iran, the focus has been on increasing the efficiency of diagnosis drugs and they have greater effectiveness than other drugs that are administered to cancer patients, he added.

Eslami further unveiled plans for a visit to Iran by Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, saying arrangements and consultations are underway for the trip.

He also dismissed the false accusations that the Western governments have leveled against Iran’s nuclear program, saying they have employed those lies as leverage to put pressure on Iran.

Official documents testify that there has been no deviation in Iran’s nuclear program and the country is interacting with the UN nuclear agency, he stated.
