Protesters in Vienna Demand Austria's Withdrawal from Ukraine Conflict (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Vienna on Saturday to demand an end to Austria's participation in the Ukraine conflict.
The demonstrators, carrying Austrian and Russian flags, marched for 'peace and neutrality', calling for a peaceful resolution of the ongoing war in Ukraine and a reversal of the government's course towards Russia.
Banners with slogans such as "No weapons, peace now" and "Continuation of Corona dictatorship. Suicide - sanctions and warmongering" were held by the protesters.
Last month, Austria's Defence Minister Klaudia Tanner announced that the country will not send weapons to Ukraine to avoid further escalation.
The protest came after Russia expelled four Austrian embassy employees from Moscow in retaliation to Austria's declaration of four Russian embassy employees as 'persona non grata', ordering them to leave the country.
