Iran Summons UK Charge D’Affaires over London’s Baseless Accusations
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chargé d'affaires ad interim of Britain in Tehran was called in by the Foreign Ministry in protest at the UK’s groundless allegations against the Islamic Republic.
Isabelle Marsh, the British chargé d'affaires ad interim, who is temporarily acting for the absent head of the UK mission in Tehran, was summoned by the Iranian Foreign Ministry over the baseless accusations that London continues to make against Iran, the ministry said on Wednesday.
In a meeting with Marsh at the ministry, the director of the West Europe department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry slammed the groundless allegations against Iran as another episode of the policy of Iranophobia, urging the UK government to stop such unfriendly approach.
Denouncing the politicized sanctions that the UK has recently imposed on Iran, the Iranian diplomat added, “The country (UK) that exercises the most severe discrimination against the migrants and Muslims and send the asylum seekers forcibly to Rwanda in contravention of the international law is in no position to comment on human rights.”
The Foreign Ministry official said Iran has proved in the past four decades that it won’t give in to foreign pressures and would soon give the retaliatory response to the sanctions imposed by the UK regime.
The UK chargé d'affaires ad interim said she would convey Iran’s protest to London.
