Iran Too Strong for Turkmenistan at 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Turkmenistan 7-1 in the Group H opening match of the 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan qualification.

In the match, held at the Bir Sherestha Shipahi Mostafa Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Hasti Forouzandeh netted a hat-trick while Mohadese Zolfi scored twice. Rahil Jafari and Kimia Rahiminia also scored a goal each.

Iran is scheduled to play Bangladesh on Sunday.

The 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualification is a scheduled women's under-20 football competition that will determine the participating teams in the 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup final tournament.

A total of eight teams will qualify for the final tournament. The host country and the top three teams of the previous tournament in 2019 will qualify automatically, while the other four teams will be decided by qualification. There will be two rounds of qualification matches, with the first round being played between March 4 and 12, 2023, and the second round scheduled to be played between June 3 and 11, 2023.
