Iran Defeats S. Korea at 2023 Asian Beach Handball Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated South Korea 2-0 at the 9th Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship on Saturday.

Iran started the campaign with a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia in Group A.

Iran will play the Philippines and Qatar on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Group B consists of Indonesia, Vietnam, Oman, Hong Kong, Kuwait and China.

The 9th Asian Men’s & Women’s Beach Handball Championship is being held in Bali, Indonesia, from March 10 to 19.

The winning team will qualify for the beach handball competition of the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from August 5 to 12, 2023.

The top two teams will also qualify for the 11th IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships, slated for June/July 2024.
