Iran Too Strong for Malaysia at 2023 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran cruised to a 14-5 win over Malaysia in its opening AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2023 Group B match on Thursday.
It was an impressive performance by the two-time champion as it signaled its intent to challenge for the Thailand 2023 title.
In the match, held at the Jomtein Beach Arena, Moslem Mesigar, Ali Mirshekari, Abbas Rezaei, Mehdi Shirmohammadi and Movahed Mohammadpour scored two goals each and there were also goals from Amir Hossein Akbari, Mohammad Moradi, Mohammad Ali Mokhtari and Mohammad Javad Khosravi.
Norazman, Faisal, Mohd Hasrol, Qushairie and Ridhwan scored for Malaysia.
Team Melli will meet Uzbekistan on Saturday.
The tournament is taking place in Pattaya, Thailand from March 16 to 26.
