Israeli Crimes Attest to Bright Future for Resistance: Iran’s President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi described the Zionist regime’s atrocities as a testimony to its weakness and a sign of bright and promising future for the resistance current.

In a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad on Sunday, Raisi said the world is changing in favor of the axis of resistance and against the arrogant system and the Zionist Regime.

"The crimes of this (Israeli) regime are a sign of its weakness and desperation and it is proof that the future is bright and promising for the resistance movement," he added.

Raisi emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of Syria and said that the only way to fight against terrorism is to support the national sovereignty of Syria.

For his part, Assad referred to four decades of resistance of Iran and Syria against the common enemies, and stated, "Today, the signs of collapse in the Zionist society have been revealed, which is the result of the resistance and especially the standing of the Palestinian nation."

Tensions have been running high in the occupied territories since Tuesday night, when dozens of heavily armed Israeli forces stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound before firing tear gas and stun grenades into the Qibli prayer hall, where hundreds of men, women, elderly people, and children were staying overnight to pray. Some eyewitnesses said rubber-coated steel bullets were also fired.

Israeli officers then beat worshipers with batons and riot guns, wounding many, before arresting them.

Within less than 24 hours, the regime’s forces staged a second attack against the Palestinian worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

In response to the Israeli aggression on al-Aqsa, more than 30 rockets were fired towards the occupied territories from southern Lebanon on Thursday, with the occupying regime targeting Gaza and positions of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Lebanon.

Since the start of the holy month, the Israeli regime has imposed strict restrictions on the entry and exit of Palestinians to and from the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque. Amid heightened tensions with Palestinian worshipers, Israeli settlers also press ahead with their frequent incursions and provocative rituals at the holy site.
