Vafaei Through 2023 World Championship Qualifying
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hossein Vafaei is through the 2023 World Championship qualifying after two fine victories.
The Iranian player defeated Welsh rival Andrew Pagett 10-4 in his first match and then beat Jackson Page 10-6 Wednesday night.
“I’m not disrespecting the other players but the tournament is just starting,” Vafaei said.
The Iranian became the first player from his country to reach the Crucible last year and has made it two trips in as many years by beating Pagett and Page.
