IRISL Makes Giant Investment in Caspian Sea Projects


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official in the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines said that IRISL has made huge investment in the Caspian Sea projects.

The Deputy CEO of IRISL for Market Development Affairs Amir Bayat made the remarks on the sidelines of the International Exhibition “Trans-Russia 2023” in Moscow on Thursday.

Regarding Iran’s share of transiting Russian goods, Southeast Asian nations and also measuring taken for development of the market, he reiterated that IRISL has embarked on investing heavily in the Caspian Sea projects in line with the realization of objectives of the policies taken in the administration of President Raisi to bolster trade with domestic traders and economists, Russian and Indian economists and also developing North-South Corridor.

He went on to say that Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group has invested about $10 million in Solyanka Port of Russia's Astrakhan.

In addition, the contract for constructing and purchasing eight vessels special for transit has been made in the Caspian Sea.

The IRISL is currently following up to strengthen transport infrastructures, he said, adding that the pavilion of Iran at the exhibition was highly welcomed by the Russian, Indian and Pakistan businesspersons and also traders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) states.

Trans-Russia is the largest exhibition for transport and logistics services, warehouse equipment and technologies in Russia.
