China Becomes Iran’s Top Trade Partner in 2022: IRICA


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The statistics for the foreign trade indicate that Iran has exported a total of 122 million tons of goods, valued at $53 billion, during the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 until March 20, 2023), $14.5 billion of which was earned by the exports to China.

Iran exported $14.5 billion worth of products to the People's Republic of China in this period.

According to the latest report from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported over 122.56 million tons of non-oil goods (excluding crude oil, kerosene and fuel oil) in the previous Iranian year, valued at $53.166 billion, showing a 0.15 percent decline and a 9.74% rise in volume and value, respectively, compared to a year earlier.

Iran has exported over $14.584 billion in products to China last year, indicating the maximum volume of products exported from Iran. Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India follow China as the main export destinations of Iran.

IRICA reported that Iran has imported 37 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at about $59.6 billion, last year (March 20, 2022 to March 20, 2023), showing around 12 percent hike as compared to a year before.
