Iran, Oman Enjoy High Potential to Boost Bilateral Trade Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) said his country and Iran have high potential to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and economy.

Given the high capacities existing in Iran and Oman, joint investment between the two countries can develop economic interactions and cooperation bilaterally, Faisal bin Abdullah stated.

Speaking at the Iran-Oman Business Forum in Tehran on Monday, he said that these events can pave the way for broadening trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Chairman of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce Mohammed Abdul Hussein Baqer also addressed the forum, pointing out that organizing this business forum is an indicator of considerable growth of economic relations between the two countries.

Oman is making its utmost effort to boost its economic relations with the Islamic Republic as the development of relations will serve the interests of both nations, he underlined.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that there are many ups and downs in trade activities, some of which are related to banking issues, adding that effective steps have been taken in line with settling the existing problems.

During the meeting, Iranian and Omani officials agreed to launch a common electronic platform between the chambers of commerce of the two countries in order to accelerate economic exchanges.
