PGCC Member States Keen on Cooperating with Iran in Transportation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary of the Persian Gulf Coordinating Council has placed special emphasis on increasing trade-economic relations with Iran, especially in the transportation sector, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash said.

Bazrpash, who had traveled to Abu Dhabi on Monday at the official invitation of UAE's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei to take part at the 17th International Middle East Rail Summit, held talks with Al Mazrouei to discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interests.

During the meeting, Bazrpash pointed to the south coastal corridor and said that the construction operation of Iran’s south coastal corridor will be finished within the next two years.

The UAE official, for his turn, stated that his country has focused on developing relations with the Persian Gulf littoral states, especially Iran.

The use of the North-South Transport Corridor via Iran is a golden opportunity for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mazrouei added.
