Loading, Unloading Operations at Chabahar Port Quintuple

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official with the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s Sistan and Balouchestan announced a fivefold growth of loading and unloading operations of goods at Chabahar Port in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).

Speaking in an interview with IRNA, Hossein Shahdadi pointed to the launching of regular services of ships carrying containerized goods from Chabahar to the origins and destinations in Chinese and Indian ports as well as ports of Persian Gulf littoral states as the main reason encouraging owners of goods to use Chabahar Port for importing, exporting and transiting goods.

Developing containerized operations through the increase of accessibility coefficient of Chabahar to the international transport network is one of the main aims of the organization in the current Iranian calendar year, he emphasized.

Fulfilling integrated marketing, presenting suitable maritime-port services, and facilitating the increase of transit of shipping companies at Chabahar Port have been cited as the executive activities of the organization in the current year, he went on to say.
