Iran Elected Vice President of UN General Assembly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s envoy was elected as the vice president of the 78th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.
The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday appointed the permanent envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the vice president of the 78th meeting of the UN General Assembly.
With this decision, Iran has been appointed as one of the first vice presidents of the General Assembly of Asia-Pacific Group in the upcoming meeting of the Assembly which will begin next September with the participation of high-profile officials of countries.
The General Assembly also unanimously appointed the candidate of Iran as the rapporteur of the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Committee of the General Assembly and a member of the board of this committee.
