Iran, Qatar to Expand Cooperation in Employment Sector

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian and Qatari labor ministers emphasized broadening bilateral cooperation in the field of employment and job creation.

Iran’s Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Seyed Solat Mortazavi in a meeting with his Qatari counterpart Ali bin Samikh Al Marri in Geneva on Friday stressed the need to expand cooperation in the fields of labor, entrepreneurship and sharing skill-training experiences.

Mortazavi, who is in Geneva to participate in the meeting of the International Labor Organization (ILO), congratulated the Qatari side for his appointment as chairman of the 111th meeting of the ILO Conference.

Turning to the special emphasis laid in the pure Islamic religion on practicing justice and observing the rights of laborers, he said that Islam is a role model of balance in the relationship between laborer and employer.

Iran’s labor minister also emphasized the need for establishing all-out cooperation between Iran and Qatar in the economic, political and cultural fields and added that promotion of relations with neighboring Qatar is ‘strategic and important’ for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Qatari labor minister, for his part, emphasized the need for expanding relations with Iran and said that the Doha government will not forget Iran’s support when Qatar was boycotted by a number of regional countries.

Qatar attaches great importance to enhancing its cooperation with Iran in various fields, he added.
