Ayatollah Khamenei: Zionists Rightly Worried about Not Seeing 80th Anniversary

In a meeting with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, held in Tehran on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the PIJ on its victory against the Israeli regime during a recent attack that was launched against the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, the Leader underlined that the Zionist regime’s current condition is very different from 70 years ago, Khamenei.ir reported.

"Today, the Zionist enemy is in a passive and reactive position. The present situation shows that the Resistance groups and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have rightly identified the path and are proceeding wisely on it," the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that it will not be possible to accomplish goals in big tasks and high targets unless the required risks are taken. He added, "Today, by the grace of God, the strength and credibility of the Palestinian Resistance groups and the Islamic Jihad are increasing and the recent defeat of the Zionist regime in the five-day war proves this."

The Leader also praised the PIJ for "passing the test" in the recent attack on Gaza. He underlined that the conditions for the Zionist regime have changed compared to that of seventy years ago and that the Zionist leaders are right to be concerned that they may not see the regime’s 80th anniversary.

Ayatollah Khamenei also spoke about how the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Palestinian Resistance groups have found the main key to fighting the Zionist regime.

"The growing power of the Resistance groups in the West Bank is the key to bringing the Zionist enemy to its knees, and this path must continue," he underlined.

The Leader then expressed gratitude and appreciation towards the measures taken by the Palestinian Resistance groups. He thanked them for their united efforts in the political field and on the battlefields, underlining the importance of this action. Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to offer its support to the Palestinian people and to the Palestinian fighters.

For his part, Ziyad al-Nakhalah thanked the Islamic Republic for its continued support of the Palestinian people and their resistance.

He gave a report on the recent developments that have taken place in occupied Palestine, especially the defeat that the Zionist regime encountered in the five-day war on Gaza.

He also highlighted the situation in the West Bank and the dominance of the Resistance groups in this region.

"The (Palestinian) Islamic Jihad came out proudly during the Gaza war. We hope that we will soon witness the ultimate victory and the liberation of Quds," Nakhalah said.
