Iran’s Razaghinia Aims for 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup Title
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Amir Mohammad Razaghinia said the team is determined to win the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup Thailand.
Iran and Japan will square off at the Thammasat Stadium on Thursday, both having already qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia.
“Qualifying for the World Cup was everyone's wish and it is very good that we have done so,” Razaghinia told the-afc.com.
“However, we had two aims - the first was World Cup qualification, which was achieved and the next one - which is the most important - is to win the Asian Cup,” added the 17-year-old.
The midfielder, who plays his club football for FC Kia, said confidence is high in the Iran squad after their win over Yemen in the quarterfinals.
“Japan is a strong team in Asia and we always respect them. However, we are familiar with them and I am confident we can overcome them.
“My personal target is not about performing on an individual basis. We are a team and I must perform to help my team win,” he concluded.
