Iran Exported over $1 Billion of Technical, Engineering Services to Iraq in 2022: Envoy


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s commercial envoy to Iraq said that more than $1 billion worth of technical and engineering services were exported to neighboring Iraq in 2022.

Speaking in a meeting of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce on Monday, Abdol-Amir Rabihavi pointed to the traditional trade exchanges with Iraq and stated that the exchange of money with neighboring Iraq is either made through FOREX shops or cash fund transfer.

Iraq can connect the Persian Gulf to Europe in the future, he said, adding that Iran can use the Iraqi route to export its products to Africa and Europe as well.

He further pointed out that Iran managed to export over $1 billion worth of technical and engineering services to this Arab country in 2022.

He pointed to the construction of industrial towns on borders and added that with the coordination made in this regard, five industrial townships would be set up on the Iran-Iraq borders.
