Iran Keen to Develop Ties with Algeria


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed hope for the enhancement of relations with Algeria on the basis of the two nations’ rich culture and history.

Raisi on Wednesday sent a message to his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune to congratulate the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on its Independence Day.

He hoped that Iran and Algeria would promote the bilateral relations that are based on mutual trust, understanding and cooperation.

The president also expressed hope that the interaction between the two nations with rich culture and history would serve the interests of the Muslim world.

The Iranian president also lauded the independence of Algeria as an auspicious achievement that elevated the Algerian people to their real position and became an example for many nations willing to decide their own fate.

Independence Day, observed annually on July 5, is a national holiday in Algeria commemorating its independence from France in 1962.
