Iran’s Nokhodi Wins Gold at Budapest Ranking Series
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian freestyler Mohammad Nokhodi claimed a gold medal at the Budapest Ranking Series on Friday.
Nokhodi defeated Georgian wrestler Vladimeri Gamkrelidze in the 79kg final.
The Budapest Ranking Series 2023, also known as Polyák Imre & Varga János Memorial, is the fourth and final wrestling ranking series of the year.
The ranking points play a significant role in setting the wrestlers’ seeding at major tournaments, such as the World Championships.
The World Wrestling Championships 2023, which will take place from September 16 to 24, 2023 at the Å tark Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, will serve as a qualifying event for the Paris Olympics 2024.
