Iran Ready to Export Radiopharmaceuticals to Turkey

Eslami had a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kirlangic in Tehran on Monday.

“Considering the past experiences of the two countries, it is expected that we’d witness the resumption of cooperation in the export of Iranian radiopharmaceuticals to Turkey,” the AEOI chief said.

Lauding the age-old bonds between Iran and Turkey, Eslami said the geopolitical position of the two neighbors has shaped their relations on the basis of friendship and mutual understanding.

“The enemies seek to harm our relations, nevertheless, we have been able to maintain cordial ties with vigilance and mutual cooperation,” he added.

In comments in July, Eslami said Iran will soon emerge as a hub of production and export of radiopharmaceuticals.

Highlighting Iran’s progress in the development of radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, Eslami had noted that the production capacity in this scientific sector could be increased by five to seven times.

In December 2022, the AEOI chief said Iran aims to become a global hub for manufacturing deuterium drugs.

The AEOI launched a second phase of its deuterium production unit in Arak Heavy Water Reactor Facility in central Iran in April 2021.
