Russian Electricity Distribution Firm Ready to Cooperate with Iran’s Electricity Industry


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – One of the main electricity distribution companies in the world has announced its readiness to forge cooperation with Iran’s electricity industry, the head of Niroo Research Institute (NRI) said.

Iranian and Russian electricity industries enjoy high potential and capabilities for launching joint cooperation, Majid Amidpour said on Wednesday in a meeting with senior managers of the Russia Electricity Network Monitoring and Operation Company.

The technological and industrial capacities in Iran’s electricity industry have paved the way for joint cooperation between the two countries, he emphasized.

Amidpour pointed to the high capabilities of Iran’s electricity industry for exporting technologies overseas and added that the Niroo Research Institute, as the research center of the Iranian Ministry of Energy, is interested in launching joint cooperation with Russia’s electricity company.

The manager of the localization department and cooperation with producers of Russia’s electricity network (Rosty), for his part, pointed to the readiness of his company for bolstering bilateral cooperation with Iran's electricity industry regarding the connection of Iran’s electricity network with Russia, high-pressure transmission lines up to 765-kV and high-pressure laboratories.
