Iranian Freestyler Khalili Takes Gold at U-17 Worlds
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sina Mahdi Khalili of Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2023 U-17 World Wrestling Championships on Saturday.
The freestyler defeated Russian wrestler Magomed Alibakharchiev 10-0 at the final bout of 65kg.
German Manuel Wagin and American wrestler Brock Ace Mantanona won two bronze medals.
Earlier in day, Iran’s Sam Sayar had won a bronze medal in the 48kg.
The 2023 U-17 World Wrestling Championships started on July 31 in Istanbul, Turkey and will run until August 6.
