Iran Earns Hard-Fought Win over Serbia at 2023 Volleyball U-19 Worlds
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Serbia 3-2 (11-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-18, 15-12) in the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U-19 World Championship on Tuesday.
Iran’s Taha Behboudnia and Mohammadreza Alejalil each scored 14 points, while Nikola Brboric earned 19 points for Serbia.
Iran will play the winner of Brazil and Bulgaria in the quarterfinals.
The 2023 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U-19 World Championship kicked off in San Juan, Argentina, on August 2 and will run until August 13.
The 20 participating teams were split into four single round-robin pools of five for the pool stage of the championship to be played over the first five competition days.
