Mohammad Reza Shakeri had won a gold medal in 65kg and Ali Rezaei claimed a silver medal in 70kg earlier in the day.

The 2023 U-20 World Wrestling Championships started in Amman, Jordan on August 14 and will run until August 20.

The event had originally been scheduled to be held in Warsaw, Poland from August 14-20. Due to Poland's refusal to issue visas to Russian and Belarusian wrestlers, United World Wrestling moved the tournament from Poland to Jordan.
