Spokesman Underlines Iran’s Progress in Different Fields Related to Space Industry

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Bahadori Jahromi, the spokesman for the Iranian administration, highlighted the progress the country has made in all areas related to the space industry.

Addressing a ceremony held to unveil the space and astronomy news section of the Tasnim News Agency on Thursday, Bahadori Jahromi said Iran’s space industry has reached a stage where it is reaping economic benefits from the field.

He said major research centers in the world consider Iran to be among the advanced countries in the space industry.

Bahadori Jahromi added that one person has been behind all of the advances in this industry and that is Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The space industry is among the industries in Iran that were born after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he stated.

Before the revolution’s victory, there was almost no indigenous step taken in this field, he said, adding that over the past decades and with the judicious guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the industry was formed and progressed rapidly in the country and became a symbol of the motto “We Can”.

Bahadori Jahromi referred to the importance that the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi attaches to the space industry, saying that it considers this industry as one of the major components of the national power.

“That is why we have focused on the issue of establishing and completing the country’s space base.”

He noted that the country’s ten-year space industry program has been developed and communicated for implementation and that today, there is a rise in the number of space launches and satellites being manufactured in Iran.

With the advances made by Iranian elites and engineers in this field, Iran is now one of the main players in the world’s space industry and can also play a major role in developing the industry’s legal structures, he went on to say.

The spokesman further referred to the launch of the special space and astronomy news section of the Tasnim News Agency and reiterated the significant role of the media in introducing the advances achieved in the country’s space industry.
