IPL: Asadi Fires Sepahan to Hard-Fought Win over Esteghlal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reza Asadi’s goal handed Sepahan football team a hard-fought 1-0 win over Esteghlal in the 2023-24 Iran Professional League (IPL) Matchweek 3 on Wednesday.
Asadi found the back of the net at the Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium from the penalty spot in the first-half’s added time.
With four minutes remaining, Sepahan was reduced to 10 men after Farshad Ahmadzadeh received his yellow card.
In Tehran, Havadar was defeated against Aluminum 2-1, Malavan earned a 4-0 win over Foolad in Anzali and Sanat Naft was held to a 1-1 draw by Paykan in Abadan.
