Gas Production Resumes at Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Production of gas from Phase 11 of Iran’s South Pars Joint Gas Field started the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi after years of hiatus.

In addition to compensating for a part of the imbalance of gas in the cold seasons of the year, gas production in the South Pars Joint Gas Field will generate employment opportunities and also yield foreign currency for the country.

The first oil well was drilled at the South Pars Joint Gas Field in 1996.

In the meantime, phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of the field were launched by the end of 2009 and the rest phases except phases 11 and 14 excluded were officially commissioned by the end of 2010.

Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field experienced many ups and downs until it was put into operation in the 13th administration, which took office in August 2021.
