Iran-Iraq Annual Trade Can Grow to $30 Billion: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chairman of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce said that Iran and Iraq enjoy the capacity to boost annual bilateral trade to $30 billion.

Yahya Al-e Es’hagh made the remarks on Tuesday at the Conference of Solution of Sustainable Development of Iran-Iraq Trade in 2025 Outlook, adding that Iran, despite all the problems, exported $11 billion worth of non-oil products to neighboring Iraq in 2022.

Trade ties between Iran and Iraq in the short- and long-terms are strategic, he said, reiterating that the two countries enjoy high potentials and capacities to enhance the mutual trade up to $30 billion.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-e Es’hagh called on Iranian economic activists, industrialists and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities created for them to boost their trade with this Arab country.

Both economic activists and the state-run sector of the country should join hands together to boost the export share of the country in the Iraqi market, Al-e Es’hagh added.
