Iran Resumes Flights to Azerbaijan, Armenia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lifted a ban on flights to Azerbaijan and Armenia after peace restoration in Karabakh, the representative of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran (CAO) said.
After the launch of military operations by Azerbaijan in Karabakh on September 19, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization suspended all flights to Azerbaijan and Armenia in the opposite direction for the safety of passengers, Jafar Yazerlu noted.
Given the agreement reached in the region, a decision was made to resume flights, he added.
Now that the escalation of tension between the two countries has alleviated, and according to the existing peace and ceasefire agreement and also coordination made with the relevant institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, flights on the mentioned routes have returned to normal condition, Yazerlu noted, trend.az reported.
