Iran Voices Readiness for Expanding Cooperation with ISO


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) expressed the country’s readiness for the development of cooperation with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Speaking in a meeting with Secretary General of ISO Sergio Mujica on the sidelines of the 45th Conference of the ISO General Assembly in Australia on Friday, Mehdi Eslampanah emphasized that Iran is ready to expand cooperation with ISO.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest in the field of standards.

The ISIRI chief invited the ISO secretary general to visit Iran to participate in the 100th foundation anniversary of standardization in Iran as well as the establishment of the ISIRI.

The secretary general of ISO, for his part, hailed the active participation of Iranian delegations in the specialized meetings and expressed hope that technical cooperation and the presence of experts of the ISIRI in ISO technical committees will continue.

The specialized meeting of the ISO General Assembly was held in Brisbane, Australia, with the participation of more than 120 member states and also representatives of a number of regional and international organizations.
