Iran’s Rezaei Claims Bronze in Taekwondo at Hangzhou
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Taekwondo athlete Matin Rezaei claimed a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Wednesday.
The Iranian athlete defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Eldar Kurmanaliev 2-0 in the men’s 68kg and also emerged victorious over China’s Chenming Xiao 2-1.
Rezaei lost to Jordan’s Zaid Abdulkareem 2-1 in the semifinals.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to Hangzhou in 34 sports events.
