2022 Asian Games: Taekwondo Athlete Mirhosseini Bags Bronze
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondo athlete Melika Mirhosseini Vakili earned a bronze medal in the women’s -67kg of the 2022 Asian Games on Wednesday.
She defeated Nepalese Indira Basent 2-0 and then earned a 2-1 win over Jordan’s Alsadeq Julyana.
Mirhosseini lost to Feruza Sadikova 2-1 in the semifinals and claimed a bronze medal.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to Hangzhou in 34 sports events.
