Shoja Panahi Claims Silver in Wushu: 2022 Asian Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shoja Panahi of Iran won a silver medal in wushu in the 2022 Asian Games on Thursday.

He defeated Yemen’s Yousef Ahmed Saad Isskandar in Round of 16 and also Kyrgyzstan’s Askat Omurzakov and Gideon Fred Padua in the men’s 60kg.

Panahi lost to Xuetao Wang of China 2-0 in the final.

A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to Hangzhou in 34 sports events.
