Iranian Kabaddi Teams Learn Fate at Hangzhou

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The women’s and men’s kabaddi teams of Iran discovered their opponents at the 2022 Asian Games in China.

Iran’s women’s team has been pitted against Bangladesh and Nepal in Group B.

India, Chinese Taipei, Thailand and South Korea are in Group A.

Iran’s men’s team is also drawn in Group B along with Pakistan, South Korea and Malaysia.

Group A consists of India, Japan, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei.

The teams are divided into two groups with each team playing in a round-robin format with the other teams in their group.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, which will be the bronze medal matches.

Iran is the defending champion in both the men’s and women’s events.

India is the most successful team in kabaddi at the Asian Games, having won the title in all but one edition -in both events- since the sport was introduced in 1990.
