Nassaji Not Overawed by Al Hilal: ACL Matchday 2
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Nassaji Mazandaran will be far from overawed when it hosts Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal SFC in Group D of the AFC Champions League 2023-24 on Tuesday.
The Iranian side kicked off its debut campaign with a 2-0 win over India's Mumbai City while Al Hilal needed a late goal to salvage a point against Uzbekistan's Navbahor.
Mehdi Rahmati hailed his Nassaji players for their drive and focus in the win over Mumbai City and the head coach will expect the same when they host Al Hilal.
The win over Mumbai City gave Nassaji the early lead in Group D and three points against four-time AFC Champions League winner Al Hilal also is determined to secure an automatic berth into the knockout stage.
A late equalizer secured Al Hilal a point against Navbahor but the Neymar-powered side has recovered well since the 1-1 draw.
