Qalibaf in Abu Dhabi to Expand Iran-UAE Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has traveled to the United Arab Emirates to weigh plans for the enhancement of relations between the two neighbors.

Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran for Abu Dhabi on Thursday morning, Qalibaf said his trip is aimed at broadening parliamentary, economic and political relations between the two countries.

Pointing to Iran’s policy of expansion of strategic ties with the neighboring states, the senior lawmaker said the two nations can strengthen the economic and political relations on the basis of sustainable security and regional peace.

He also noted that the visit would allow for a positive step to review the previous agreements between Iran and the UAE and evaluate their progress, hoping that the two countries’ recent accession to BRICS would contribute to stronger regional and international cooperation.
