US Exports to Iran Surge 17% in 8 Months


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US Bureau of Statistics in its latest report announced a 17 percent growth in the export of non-oil goods from the US to Iran in the first eight months of 2023 (January-August).

The value of Iran and US trade exchanges from January to August 2023 reached $33.4 million, showing a one percent hike compared to the same period last year.

The US exported $32.7 million worth of goods to Iran in the first eight months of the current year, while it had exported $27.9 million worth of non-oil products to Iran from January to August 2022.

Iran exported $0.7 million worth of non-oil goods to the United States from January to August 2023, showing an 86 percent decline compared to the same period last year.

The US had imported $5.1 million worth of goods from Iran between January and August 2022.

According to the report, the US exported $2.2 million in non-oil goods to Iran in August 2023.

This is while the United States had exported $3.7 million worth of goods to Iran and imported $0.1 million of goods from Iran in August 2022.
