Iran’s Top General Urges UN to Stop Israeli War Crimes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri called on the UN to convene an emergency meeting following the tragic strike on a hospital in Gaza and force the Zionist regime to stop its atrocities.

In a statement on Wednesday, the top Iranian commander condemned the Israeli bomb attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza that killed at least 500 Palestinians on Tuesday night.

He called on international organizations and humanitarian institutions to end their silence on the catastrophe caused by the Israeli crimes in Gaza and prevent the continuation of the genocide.

Urging the United Nations to hold an extraordinary meeting to compel the Zionist regime to stop the war crimes, General Baqeri said the silence on the Zionist atrocities or issuing a mere diplomatic statement would be tantamount to cooperation with the Israeli regime’s bloodletting.

He also called on Muslim governments to mobilize their forces and join hands to avert the “lunatic genocide” perpetrated by the Zionist regime in Gaza and pave the way for the treatment of thousands of Palestinians who have been injured in the Israeli strikes, many of them women and children.

More than 3,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since Hamas’s October 7 operation outside Gaza.
