Russia Keen on Expanding Trade, Economic Cooperation with Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Customs officials from Iran and Russia emphasized the need for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Head of the Russian Federal Customs Service (FCS) Ruslan Davydov in a meeting with Deputy President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) for Customs Affairs Ferod Askari highlighted the interest of his country in the development of cooperation with Iran, especially in the field of trade and customs.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in facilitating trade within the framework of the Green Corridor.

Increasing the tariff line for exchanging goods within the framework of the Green Corridor between the two countries, pursuing the final approval of the Agreement on Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) and exchanging knowledge and experience between customs experts of the two countries are of the cases that will help facilitate the bilateral trade, Askari underlined.

In the meeting, the Iranian side submitted a proposal for setting up a joint working group with the participation of customs officials of the two countries.

The head of FCS called Iran a strategic partner of the Russian Federation and stated that his country is interested in developing cooperation with Iran, especially in the field of trade.
