Iran, Turkmenistan Initiate New Chapter for Strengthening Bilateral Trade


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s minister of roads and urban development pointed to the expansion of trade and economic relations between Tehran and Ashgabat and emphasized that economic enterprises of the two countries enjoy high potentials to implement trade contracts and boost bilateral trade.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of the “Iran Project” Exhibition held in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat, Mehrdad Bazrpash pointed to the breakthroughs and booming trade and commercial ties between the two countries and said senior officials of the two countries are seriously determined to deepen bilateral ties in all fields, especially in the fields of trade and economy.

The ground has been set for the two sides to share technical know-how and knowledge and also identify the mutual capacities that exist between the two countries, Bazrpash added.

He pointed to the 17th edition of the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Economic Commission meeting and expressed hope that this economic forum will create a golden opportunity for the economic activists of the two countries to broaden their relations and conclude new trade agreements.

Undoubtedly, there are high potentials and capacities between Iranian and Turkmen companies for the conclusion and implementation of trade contracts in all fields including the steel industry, construction materials, technical and engineering services, water, electricity and energy (oil, gas and petrochemical), Iran’s roads minister stressed.

Iran is ready to share its experiences and technical know-how with companies of other countries especially neighboring and friendly states, including Turkmenistan in line with promoting bilateral cooperation towards regional and international peace and friendship, Mehrdad Bazrpash added.
