Tehran, Doha to Establish Business Relations Council for Enhancing Cooperation


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and Qatar will set up a Business Relations Council to expand their bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and economy.

In a telephone conversation held between Iran’s Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian and Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani on Monday, the two sides stressed the need to set up the Business Relations Council with the aim of developing trade and economic relations.

At the threshold of the 9th Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, Mehrabian said, “The two countries have established very good political relations and accordingly, organizing the 9th Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in the current month will be a good opportunity for the enhancement of the level of bilateral economic relations.”

The Qatari minister of commerce and industry stated that the Business Relations Council will be formed given the significance of the development of the trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The 9th Meeting of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission will be held at the venue of the Ministry of Energy in Tehran on December 9-11 with the participation of Qatari Minister of Commerce and IndustrySheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani and his accompanying delegation.
