Iran Loses to Japan at 2023 World Women's Handball C’ship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Japan 42-10 at the 2023 IHF Women’s World Championship Monday night.

Iran, who had previously lost to Poland 35–15 and Germany 45-22 in Group F, is heading to the President’s Cup.

Team Melli Banovan is in Group II.

With its first win at Denmark/Norway/Sweden 2023, Japan progressed to the main round, where it will start with zero points, after losses against Germany and Poland.

The Asian side will face Denmark, Romania and the winner from the Serbia vs Chile tie, but it will have zero points.

On the other hand, Iran will be still aiming to secure its maiden IHF Women’s World Championship win, after conceding nine losses in a row now.
