Iran-Russia Trade Hits $1.7 bln in 8-Month Period


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Russia’s trade exchanges in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to November 22, 2023) exceeded $1 billion, showing an 18 percent hike compared to the same period last year.

The two countries exchanged more than three million tons of non-oil goods from March 21 to November 23, 2023, registering a 43 percent rise in weight compared to last year’s corresponding period.

In this period, Iran exported more than $616 million worth of commodities to the Russian Federation, showing a 32 percent increase compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

Iran exported over one million tons of goods to Russia in the first eight months of the current year, registering a 66 percent up compared to the same period of last year.

In addition, more than two million tons of non-oil goods, valued at over $1 billion, were imported into the country, indicating a 31 and 12 percent growth in weight and value respectively compared to last year’s corresponding period.
